NeNe Leakes is revealing the reason she won’t be on an upcoming reality TV show!

The 57-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta alum was a guest on the Humble Brag podcast on Monday (June 7).

While on the podcast, she explained the reason that she had to turn down a spot on season 4 of The Traitors.

“So I was asked to do Traitors — I was really excited about doing it, by the way,” NeNe revealed on the podcast.

She shared that the reason she had to say no to the Peacock reality TV series is because of her son’s ongoing health issues.

“I couldn’t do Traitors ‘cause my son’s in the hospital. And he’s still in the hospital,” NeNe shared.

NeNe‘s son, 25-year-old Brentt Leakes, originally suffered heart failure and a stroke in 2022 and has suffered with health issues since the event. In 2024, he received a heart transplant which later had complications from his body beginning to reject it.

Even though NeNe had to turn the opportunity down, she shared that she doesn’t regret telling Peacock she couldn’t accept a spot on the show. She said on the podcast, “I kept thinking maybe Brentt would be much better [by June]. My fear was committing and then having to go back to them and say, ‘I can’t do it.’ So that was never going to work. Brentt was very sick. It was no way I could have committed to it. And I believe you have to go out of the country.”
