Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow backed out of purchasing a replica Batmobile due to the robbery that took place at his home in December. The robbery led to multiple arrests and a federal grand jury indictment, with prosecutors alleging the burglary was conducted by members of a large criminal network..

During the in-season edition of HBO’s Hard Knocks last year, Joe Burrow revealed that he bought a replica Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s trilogy for $3 million after signing a $275 million contract extension with the Bengals.

In his latest documentary starring role in the second season of Netflix’s Quarterback, however, Burrow confirmed that he wound up not buying the Batmobile due to the burglary at his home. Burrow features in season two of Quarterback alongside Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins.

“I didn’t end up getting the Batmobile because I just had other things I wanted to deal with at that point,” Burrow said on the Netflix series Quarterback, confirming that the robbery at his home caused him to change his mind about buying it.

“I just get very uncomfortable. My life is very public. That comes with the job, but there’s certain parts of your life that are yours. Your house is one of those… “We’ll see if I end up moving or not. Now the whole world knows where I live now. But that hasn’t been very fun to deal with.”

Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals will open their 2025 season with a road matchup against their AFC North rivals, the Cleveland Browns, on Sunday, September 7. The Bengals will be looking to rebound from a 2024 campaign that saw them fail to qualify for the playoffs for the third time in Burrow’s five-year career.

Despite the Bengals relative struggles as a team last season — they did ultimately finish about .500 at 9-8 — the 28-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner had his best season as a pro, as he completed 70.6% of his passes (career-high), for 4,918 yards (career-high), 43 touchdowns (career-high), and 9 interceptions.
