D.C. Hits Pause on New Funding for Washington Gas Pipe Replacement Project

The D.C. Public Service Commission temporarily halted a $57 million expenditure by Washington Gas for its citywide pipe replacement program due to concerns about poor performance and inefficiency, a move that advocates hope is a sign that the District is moving towards a clean, safe, and affordable energy system.
